Retraction of Spring

With spring upon my doorstep,

Warm sunrays fade away to gray.

A chilly display pervedes today.

Flat, lack-lustre, dolldrum clouds

invade the skies above my hometown

sounding a frown with general malaise

I unwillingly retract into old winter days.
